Hey there! My name is Karina, and I’m going into my final year at UC Berkeley as a Geology major. Having come into school as an Environmental Science major, I’m especially interested in sustainable resource management. Someday, I hope to help ease and prevent wide-spread drought (like the current one in California) by researching groundwater storage and related fields. My love for studying geology spurs from my passion for mountaineering, and I aspire to summit all of California’s “Fourteeners” by the time I’m 30 (5 down, 10 to go!). In addition, I’m a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and enjoy learning about my family’s history. I’m excited for what this summer has in store as this will be my first time in the Midwest!
