Apostle Islands Sea caves is a must!!! We were so lucky to have sunny skies that provided crystal clear water with a perfect breeze while kayaking around the amazing caves of the Apostle Islands. Finally caught my first sunset on Lake Superior, too!
This weekend I met up with the team up in Duluth and went on an awesome boat ride on Lake Superior! Perfect weather and crystal clear (cold!!) water 🙂 Here are some of my favorite landscape shots from the trip.
This week Team SPIRIT converted our data about Spirit Island to a computer code in Python. Spirit Island is represented on the left, where the red line comes out of. The image on the right is the bathymetry of Spirit Lake along that red line. This is the first major step in learning how wave erosion influences Spirit Island throughout time.
I love my daily 4 mile commute to the St. Anthony Falls Lab. These pictures were taken on the Stone Arch Bridge, a bridge for bikers and pedestrians only — supposedly the best place in Minneapolis to watch fireworks or catch a sunset!
Riley taking a photo of our experimental set up of our next flume experiment…. and away, we go!
Whoops – Team SPIRIT had a bit of a spill today when we were trying to equate the input and output rates of water flow in our flume! The ten hour experiment begins tomorrow…. hopefully this time I can keep my shoes dry 😛
