Cheyenne Sun Eagle is currently a Junior at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas- Lawrence, majoring in Environmental Science with a minor in Natural Science. From May 2013-May 2014, she has conducted research in pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She presented her research at a symposium on April 16th, with a poster and oral presentation. In the summer of 2014, she is participating in an REU in Sustainable Land and Water Resources, on a project looking at green aglae as a potential for biofuels. Her future plans are to continue her education in graduate school, earning a degree in the ecology and evolutionary biology sciences. She is enrolled in the Pawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. She is first generation in her family to earn a college degree. She enjoys reading classic literature and novels, travelling, playing the clarinet, listening to music, and writing.
